Toy Sunday: Thank you to the congregation members who contributed toys for Toy Sunday. 420 new toys were collected and donated as follows: 66 to the May Dugan Center, 75 to OhioGuidestone, 65 to the City Mission, 65 to Brookside Center, 84 to our Twice Blessed Free Store, and 65 to the West Side Community House. Thanks also to the families of our Rocky River United Methodist Nursery School who contributed 150 toys for the Twice Blessed Free Store!
TBFS New Toy Collection: We as a church were able to give out 732 new toys to children in need. This means there were 732 new toys under Christmas trees that would not have been there if it were not for each and every one of you. You helped put countless smiles on children’s faces and helped parents have to worry a little less about having enough resources during this time of year. This church has truly shown what it means to be the body of Christ.
Mission Sunday: Thank you congregation for contributing $6,170 to this year's Mission Sunday charities (City Mission, Flat Rock, Gathering Place, Love INC, Malachi House, Providence House, St. Vincent de Paul, and TBFS)! Your generosity will help address the critical needs of many struggling people outside of our church.
Warming Tree: Thank you also for filling the Warming Trees with 19 pairs of socks, 21 scarves, 14 hat and glove sets, 97 hats, 142 gloves, 1 scarf and hat, 1 infant’s winter coat, 2 packages of pony tail head bands, and 2 detangles brushes. These items were shared with Providence House, Twice Blessed, May Dugan, and the City Mission.
UMCOR donations & Hunger Offerings: Thank you for your donations totaling $4,487 in 2019 via the hunger offering and for donating $1,620 to the United Methodist Committee on Relief during 2019. The hunger donations were divided among West Side Community House, Cory UM Hunger, St. Matthew’s Soup Kitchen, and Love INC.
