VBS 2024 has ended, but the hearts that have been changed through the week are just beginning their journey. This year at SCUBA, we learned how to have a friendship with God. Each day was filled with all kinds of adventures.
• Day 1 we learned how God is a friend who’s real. We learned about Elijah and King Ahab’s battle over which God was real. We created altars and watched God send down fire.
• Day 2 we learned how God is a friend who loves. We took a trip to Nineveh and then met Jonah and were swallowed by a whale and spit back out. We learned how God loves us even when we don’t think it’s deserved.
• Day 3 was all about how God is a friend we can trust. We learned that trusting Jesus isn’t easy in the midst of our storms, but how He will quiet the loudest of storms if we just have faith.
• Day 4 was the most important day as we learned God is a friend forever. We went to the empty tomb and met Mary Magdalene and learned that, even through all that the leaders and Jesus’ friend had done to hurt Him, He still turned what could have been the end for all into eternal life for all who believe.
• Finally, on day 5, it was all about how God is a friend to everyone. We met Lydia and heard how she became the first Christian in Europe as well as started one of the first churches from her home.
Every science experiment, game, and Scripture tied together to help teach the Bible Point each day. Through all that, you changed 105 children, 44 youth, and 28 adult’s lives throughout the week.
Thank you for all you have done to help make VBS a success. I’ll see you next year in Alaska when we go “True North” and learn how Jesus can take care of us in this wild world!
