May was an especially busy month getting requests for bikes and attempting to fill them.
We’ve been consistent with our 12:00-3:00pm hours on Wednesdays, so if you’re interested in helping out, drop on by!
We will keep you posted on whether Saturday mornings will pick back up again.
This past month was a big month for receiving donated bicycles as well. We’ve had donors in Willoughby (heard about the ministry from a friend), in Olmsted Falls (through Strongsville UMC), and of course, Rocky River.
We’ve been moving bicycles via car rack or just getting them in the backseat. No matter how they get there, the bikes make it to the garage for some TLC from the volunteers. With the arrival of summer, we’ve received a number of guests asking for our bicycle services, kids and adults alike. We’re happy to get pedals on the feet of everyone and anyone, and we’re also concerned with bicycle safety and give out bike helmets along with the bikes.

You may support the Link Up Bike Ministry by donating to RRUMC with “Link Up Bike Ministry” on your check memo line (funds used to buy bike helmets and parts for bike repair), by bringing your used bicycles to RRUMC (place them at the base of the stairs outside of room 101 - cross hallway between Wesley Hall and Beacon Hall), or by volunteering to help repair bicycles or maybe pick up donated bicycles (contact Don Jones or Matt Whisenhunt).
