RRUMC’s missionary partner, Dr. Belinda Forbes, has chosen a new placement. She continues her missionary work in Nicaragua, but is now serving at AMOS Health and Hope.
A little bit about AMOS – AMOS is a nonprofit health organization whose mission is dedicated to reducing preventable deaths and improving the health and well-being of people who suffer from the unjust conditions of poverty. AMOS’s programs empower local leaders to build upon their strengths and respond to the needs they identify within their communities.
AMOS seeks health for all people, a world where no child dies from a preventable disease, and effective and empowering health care. AMOS believes that everyone deserves to have health and hope. The name “AMOS” is an acronym for “A Ministry of Sharing”, but also makes reference to the Old Testament prophet Amos who was a farmer and spoke out against injustices of his day.
