Youth Activities

by Steven Young, Director of Youth Ministries

Link-Up Bike Mural Project

This month we will be painting a mural on the side of a building we use for our Link-Up Bike Ministry. We will be partnering with Children’s Ministry and the Free Store as well to pull this off. This event will have all the precautions needed for safety against the virus. Masks and social distancing will be required. Please email Steven Young at syoung@rrumc.org to receive the date and time of this event and other events happening this fall.

Stay Up To Date

To make sure parents and students stay up to date, email Steven Young at syoung@rrumc.org to subscribe to receive youth ministry emails. This will ensure that students and parents receive the most up-to-date information regarding the youth ministry. With the unpredictability of the virus, events and activities cannot be planned very far out into the future. The goal is to be in-person again, but when and how that will look is still under discussion among church leadership. Again, please email Steven Young to receive the most up-to-date information regarding youth ministry.

Daily Devotions for Student Ministry

I hope everyone is staying safe in these unprecedented times. I have been missing every student deeply and can’t wait to see everyone again. In an attempt to stay connected, I am sending out daily devotions 5 days a week. The devotions should take no longer than 5- 10 minutes of your time, but I certainly hope it has a much longer impact. These devotions will be interactive and I would recommend using a journal or typing out a response to the 2 or 3 questions. If you want to receive daily devotions, email Steven Young at syoung@rrumc.org to subscribe.

Daily Devotions for Student Ministry, One Verse, Sunday Messages

Daily devotions, taking 5-10 minutes of your time, are sent to youth 5 days a week, but hopefully have a much longer impact. E-mail Steven Young at syoung@rrumc.org to subscribe. “One Verse,” 2-3 minute videos speak to one Bible verse, discuss its impacts, and spurs spiritual growth. Also, I release short messages geared towards youth every Sunday which offer exciting lessons from God’s Word meant to strengthen, grow, and reach youth within the church. Both the “One Verse” and Sunday message videos can be found on the church website, on the RRUMC youth Facebook page, and on the church’s YouTube channel so don’t forget to like and subscribe to the youth Facebook and Instagram pages via the youth page on the church website! Also, by subscribing you will get up-to-date information regarding upcoming events, newsletters, and pictures.
