Reflections By Rev. Dan Bogre

Dear Friends and Family of RRUMC,

As you are all aware by now, we say at RRUMC, “It’s all about the story. We exist to help people meet Jesus Christ in the midst of their story.” That has become the filter through which all new ministries start. We ask a simple question. How will this new ministry help people meet Jesus Christ in the midst of their story? If there is a clear way of accomplishing that goal, we work to fund and resource that new ministry. If it cannot answer that question, for the time being anyway, the new idea is dead in the water.

That is exactly the thought that led our church to vote unanimously to take on a second campus at 9900 Madison Avenue in April of 2021. The whole purpose of that campus is to help people of that community meet Jesus Christ in the midst of their story. That, so far, is being accomplished through Twice Blessed Free Store, Saturday morning worship and prayer, and Cocaine Anonymous meetings each week. We have been calling that location “Trinity Church” or “Cleveland Campus” or “9900”. We needed to give it a new name to capture what we are trying to accomplish there through our mission and vision.

We took a new name to our Administrative Council meeting in May and proposed it for approval. The new name that passed unanimously at that Administrative Council meeting is……………………STORY CHURCH!

That is the next part of our church’s story. It is the next chapter to be written and celebrated. We want to get to know that community’s story and help them to see Jesus Christ already active and moving in its story.

We are working on a logo which will still reflect our overall church logo with the steeple coming out of the book that represents both the Bible and each of our “story book”. We will be working on physical signage at that location. We will also revamp the church’s website to reflect one church in two locations.

This is a new and exciting chapter of RRUMC’s story. We can’t wait for your story to be a part of it. Please keep an eye out for more and more events, worship, ministries, and community connections that will be happening in the very near future.

Only God can see all the plans He already has for Story Church. Our goal, and job, and calling is to start opening the book over there to bring all those stories to life.

Please volunteer at, and pray for, Story Church as that chapter of RRUMC’s story comes together. Thank you Lord for Story Church and our place in it.

Peace and Blessings,

Rev. Dan
