Good Morning Rocky River United Methodist Congregation,
As the new year ushers in resolutions and plans, we are committed to sticking with our formula for success downstairs in the school.
Patience and love while working with young children is a strategy that never seems to fail. The letters and sounds will come with time, and number sense will grow stronger as the year goes on.
However, the social-emotional growth that our young students gain from being here is just tremendous. They are learning essential relationship skills—how to listen to others, how to make good choices with peers, how to play and be a friend. These skills are so crucial as these little ones progress through their early years of school.
During the first two weeks of December, while the children were still attending school before Christmas break, the Nursery School organized a Sock Drive. We kept it simple and partnered with Story Church to ensure the items we gathered were truly needed.
As of the Circuit Rider deadline, the final count is still to be determined. This was a wonderful and meaningful activity to participate in during the Advent season. We talked about ideas that could help others and explored what service looks like when you’re five years old. Service to others is a wonderful principle we can all think about more and engage in more often throughout our lives.
Nursery School registration for the 2025–2026 school year is currently open to all on our website: https://www.rrumc.org/registration. Please spread the word about our school and help us continue the good work we do downstairs.
Blessings to all in this New Year,
Nursery School Teachers & Staff
