Nursery School News

Hello Rocky River United Methodist Congregation,

The Nursery School is up and running full speed ahead. We began in early September with a parent open house where mom and sad come in to spend a day with their child. The students learn where to find their coat hooks, where is their new cubby, and I think I recognize that kid from last year! The beginning weeks are filled with rules and routines, making new friends, and revisiting old friendships. As the leaves begin to turn and October comes into view, our hallway becomes a little spooky with all things Halloween. The children love this time of year more than anyone else. Creepy spiders,

Halloween ghosts, and lots of great picture books to share tend to lead our days downstairs. The students by now have settled into a nice rhythm and know what to expect each day. They have mastered many new skills in such a short period of time. We have begun the letter of the week. Each week all the “grades” in the school work on the new letter that we added in an age appropriate way. As the children progress through our school each year, we add more and more to what they are learning.

Thank you for your continued support. We truly embrace being a part of the Methodist Church community and hope to further collaborate this school year in whatever manner we can. Happy Halloween!
