To help people meet Christ in the midst of their story, the Donations and Volunteer Coordinator will manage the collection, sorting, and organizing of donated items at our Twice Blessed Free Store (TBFS).
Hours: Part time
Salary: $15.00 per hour
Hours: Average of 20 hours per week
Reports to: Lisa Thomas, Twice Blessed Free Store Director
Ministry Responsibilities:
Donation Pick Up: Coordinate the timely pick up of donations from various sources, including, but not limited to Rocky River UMC, other organizations, and community partners.
Sorting Events: Organize and oversee regular sorting events with volunteers. Help create schedules, assign tasks, and provide guidance to volunteers during these events to ensure efficient sorting, categorization, and preparation of items for the store.
Donation Processing: Assess the usability and quality of donated items, categorizing them appropriately. Dispose of unsuitable or damaged items according to TBFS guidelines.
Administrative Support: Assist the director with administrative tasks, including generating reports, inventory, and volunteer participation.
Qualifications:
Personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by spiritual maturity, including maintaining the vision of Twice Blessed Free Store that is consistent with RRUMC’s mission statement.
Commitment to semi-regular attendance of RRUMC’s worship services and participation in other activities.
Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail.
Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and job performance of volunteers.
Ability to lift and move 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience in retail
Experience in organizing, sorting, and restocking
