Hear and Be Heard

At its March 19 meeting, the RRUMC Administrative Council formed a “A Way Forward Planning Team” who will meet on a scheduled basis for a minimum of one year to accomplish four specific objectives:

  1. Monitor the future outcomes and actions of the United Methodist Church related to its adoption and inclusion of the Modified Traditional Plan in the Book of Discipline.

  2. Provide discussion and listening opportunities to church members and constituents about the implementation effects of the Modified Traditional Plan at RRUMC.

  3. Report results of monitoring, discussion, and listening to the Administrative Council on a monthly basis.

  4. Recommend specific policies, practices, and programs that may need to be implemented.

All are invited to participate in A Way Forward Information Sharing session in Beacon Hall on Thursday, May 2 at 7pm.

On May 2, we will:

  1. Hear a report by District Superintendent Steve Bailey on the findings of the UM Judicial Council’s sessions from April 23-26.

  2. Invite your questions about the Judicial rulings and their impact on our shared mission to help people meet Jesus Christ in the midst of their stories.

  3. Review ways that you, your pastors, and your A Way Forward Planning Team see those rulings intersecting with the mission of RRUMC.

You are welcome to submit questions in advance to: rrumcwayforward@gmail.com. Or contact Way Forward Team members (Phil Ardussi, Laurie Bruce, Bill Cowles, Tom Dewey, Sally Lenhart, Cindy Schafer) individually.

We hope you can join us at this informative sharing session.

Additionally, Rev. Laurie Bruce is available for individual conversation by contacting the church office or through our email - rrumcwayforward@gmail.com
