Dear Friends and Family of RRUMC,
WAY TO GO CHURCH!!
It was just about six months ago that I sat down with Brian Hintz and he told me about what God was putting on his heart.
Brian is an avid and passionate cyclist. He knew that God wanted to take that passion and use it to help people meet Jesus Christ in the midst of their story.
Brian took that vision to Administrative Council and with a unanimous vote, we created this new outreach ministry called, “Link- Up” Bike Ministry. In just 5 weeks we raised almost $13,000 when we were only asking for $7,500 to get started.
In the mist of raising the funds we were able to lease space from a very generous church member at a very afffordable price to house the new bike shop. Brian, when he brought his idea to the church, talked about giving that first bike away and what that experience would mean to him, to the church, and to the person receiving the bike.
I think that it is only fitting that it happened at our Cleveland campus’ Twice Blessed Free Store, those two powerful and life-transforming ministries working hand in hand to give that first bike away.
The gentleman in the accompanying picture said that he needed a way to get to his job each day and a car was not something that he was currently able to afford. It’s amazing what happens when we allow God to take over something that we already love to turn it into something he can use.
Brian loves cycling. Brian said that the Bible study that he has been in since last fall was a big reason for him not only hearing God’s call, but having the courage and boldness to then act on that call in his life. He has shared that he has over 30 bikes that are about to be given away to 12 families in need with many more requests coming in. WE NEED YOUR BIKES!! If you have a bike in your garage that has been sitting there for way too long, we will take it no matter what the condition. There are people waiting for that bike. Contact Brian Hintz at Hintzbrian@gmail.com or 440.390.9818 to make arrangements to donate your bike. Thank you in advance for you bike donations.
Brian’s story had so many pieces coming together so he could be ready to hear God’s call. He and Katie worship every Sunday. They are in Bible studies together. He is a person of prayer.
There are so many faith components coming together in his life that it is no wonder that he could clearly hear God speaking to him. Can you hear His call on your life?
What do you love to do? What are you passionate about? Do you know that God will use it to help people meet Jesus Christ in the midst of their story?
Peace,
Rev. Dan
