Dear Friends and Family of RRUMC,
I am so excited to bring you another Circuit Rider full of great news.
We have been working diligently since last September to fill the opening we have had in the position of Director of Youth Ministries at the church. I could not be any happier as I introduce to you Mr. Steven Young. He started on April 1 as our Director of Youth Ministries. We would also like to welcome his lovely wife Emily and his two beautiful daughters, Makenna (3) and Aniyah (1).
Steven comes to us from another United Methodist church in our conference where he was doing amazing work as their youth director. He has a Bachelors Degree from Malone University in English and a Masters Degree from Ashland Seminary in Practical Theology. Most importantly, he brings to RRUMC and his role as Director of Youth Ministries an absolute passionate heart for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You cannot help but to feel it and see it in him the minute you start to talk with him.
We know that there is a lot for Steven to learn as he comes into the rhythm of our church. There are huge expectations on him and his ministry here. That being said, we hired him because we are completely confident in his ability to help the youth of our church and our community meet Jesus Christ right in the midst of their story. He can only be successful with the love, support, and prayers of our amazing congregation here at RRUMC.
As we pray Steven into his leadership role with the youth, may he speak the Word of God to them and may they come to imitate his strong and passionate faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May God bless Steven, Emily, Makenna, and Aniyah as we welcome them into our family here at RRUMC.
Our church has been going through a lot of changes and transitions in 2019 but I want to remind all of you of what the writer of Hebrews says in chapter 13:7-8, “Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Peace,
Rev. Dan
