Rev. Dan Bogre will conclude the sermon series “Leading Ladies” with the sermon “It’s Not About Me” based on Ruth 1:15-19.
It’s not about me. WOW! That is not something we hear too often in the world as we know it.
It seems like this world is always all about me. We are taught to focus on ourselves long before we focus on someone else. We even do that under the guise of causes, beliefs, factions and religions.
We use those to get what is better for us. Ruth is totally out of the norm. She sets aside her needs, her wants, her desires and even her God’s for the one true God that her mother-in-law believes in and follows.
It was never about Ruth. It was about what God wanted her to do in her life and with her life in order to take care of Naomi.
