What was finished? Jesus, in today’s text gives his Spirit back to God and tells us that it is finished. What did he finish? Was he finished?
Did those around the cross that day think that the whole Jesus thing was finished? Had the religious leaders and Roman authorities won the battle? What did that “finish” in Jesus’ physical existence mean to our eternal existence?
