Many times when we find ourselves under the pressure of life we feel that the best way out is to pass the buck. Adam blamed Eve for eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. Eve, in turn, then blamed the snake. It always seems to be someone else’s fault. When we do that, we hope to alleviate the pressure we are feeling. However, nothing changes when we do that. In the text today Aaron blames the “evil people.” He says it’s their fault for the sin Moses is witnessing.
What if Aaron stood his ground? What if he didn’t waiver when it came to making the golden calf? Things would have turned out differently and lives would have been saved.
Most likely us standing our ground will never be a matter of life and death, but we should still know what we stand for as followers of Christ. When your time to STAND arises in your life, as a follower of Jesus Christ, do you know what you STAND for and will you STAND?
