As Peter, James, and John joined Jesus on that mountain for the Transfiguration, it was so wonderful that they wanted to build shelters so they could all stay up there in holy and beautiful and heavenly community.
Jesus, in not so many words, said, NOT YET. I too know that the community that we will be a part of when we leave this earth will be so beautiful that we cannot even imagine it with our limited minds, however, NOT YET.
Jesus, Peter, James, and John came down that mountain with great work to do as they worked to create community on earth that was so wonderful and so beautiful that it was like experiencing some of the community to come, here and now.
That is a community that gives me FOMO. That is an “on earth, as it is in heaven” community that I want to be a part of and help to bring into existence. May we all have FOMO for that community.
