All this talk about an experience of community that would have people feeling FOMO is great and all, but is it really impossible. The only compelling reasons for people to come together nowadays seem to be to belittle and ridicule one another, and to use each other as footstools. In Leviticus 13, we see God illustrating this very reality, that without the transformation offered by Christ, our sin unchecked, community is hopeless. It’s a good thing these don’t represent our present reality. Jesus unlocks the path to true community when He demonstrates that it is a matter of the heart.
Are we ready to defy the wisdom of the world and the waywardness of the past and finally experience the beautiful fellowship Christ invites us into?
