How would you like to have a mysterious sword-wielding man appear before you out of thin air? This was Joshua’s experience just as he and the Israelites arrived in the Promised Land. He had been called to lead the people in conquest over the cities already established there.
Would this man, apparently a messenger from God and commander of the Lord’s army, join Israel’s side or instead side with their enemy? Neither! The Lord doesn’t choose sides, Joshua would learn.
