You Be You: Thicker than Blood

7th Sunday after Pentecost. Pastor Paul Bennett will continue the sermon series “You Be You” with a sermon based on Mark 3:31-35.

Thus far in this series, we’ve tackled head on those challenges of achieving our “you be you” when the world and its inhabitants have no interest whatsoever in supporting our endeavor, at times dead set on preventing it. However, we don’t have to go at this thing alone. In fact, God’s design was that we would have a loving and supportive faith family alongside us at all times along the way.

During His ministry, Jesus even went so far as to openly disassociate Himself from His family of origin in order to uplift His newly adopted family of faith. Relationships are complicated, and we can pursue healthy connections with people of all creeds. But we must ensure we’re ever aware of the nature of each relationship, and that we’re never disconnected from our family that matters most, the family of God.
