You Be You: One step forward, two steps back

Doesn’t our faith just seem to go that way sometimes? We feel like we are growing in our faith and we are living into the “You Be You” that God created us to be and then life hits us from all sides.

In our text today God says that Job is upright and blameless, a man who fears God and shuns evil, and that there is no one on earth like him. That is how God describes Job and yet calamity after calamity hits Job. On top of it all the best advice his wife can give him in the midst of the storms he is facing is to, “Curse God and die.”

How would God describe you? What is the “you be you” that God has created for you to live into? Are the people around you helping you to live into it or are they a constant pull as you try to run forward? One step forward and two steps back.
