Seven-Mile Miracle: Mile Marker 2: Salvation

Join us on Sunday, March 8 as Pastor Paul Bennett preaches from Luke 23:32-33, 35-43.

There is no universal formula for achieving spiritual health, but our Lenten journey highlights several concepts that can, nonetheless, guide our efforts.

The repentance of Ash Wednesday must be followed by an appeal for forgiveness.

Mile Marker 2, then, emphasizes the critical step of claiming our salvation from the open offer extended through God’s perfect grace.

Many of us have done this, we’ve “claimed” our salvation. Our growing edge this Lent, though, is not whether you’ve claimed salvation, but the manner how.

In a place of desperation, the criminal on the cross emphatically insisted, “Jesus, remember me.”

We must not feebly and blindly swipe at our salvation. Rather, we must passionately lock on to God’s great gift.

Do you nonchalantly profess having been “saved” at some obscure moment in the past, or are you passionately saved and being saved, with passion and intention, each and every day?
