The scripture starts off today with the words, “Consider it pure joy, brothers and sisters, when you face trials of many kinds.”
WHAT? Pure joy in the trials?! It’s all in the approach.
Can you imagine if you approached all the trials and difficulties in your life as pure joy? That changes how you go through them and how you come out on the other side of them.
It also changes how those trials change and impact you. When we fear the trials, they are and can only be distractions.
We did not expect them. We are not prepared to face them or deal with them.
When we approach them that way they can only leave us worn out and beaten up on the other side.
When we use those distractions to focus our lives on Christ, the one who conquers the storms and trials, those moments in our lives build us up and make us stronger.
