DivorceCare Recovery Group – New Session beg. Fall 2009
“We rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance produces character; and character produces hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit; whom He has given us.”
-- Romans 5: 3-5
The mission of the RRUMC Divorce Recovery Group is to provide a caring and supportive environment to help people experiencing separation or divorce. We use a combination of DivorceCare DVDs and small group support led by people who have been through divorce. DivorceCare is a Christ-centered approach to addressing the issues of divorce and separation and the effect on individuals, children and families. We seek to provide a healing touch and encouragement leading to discovery and healing.
The group facilitators are Amy (Leopard) and Karl Wilkens. We are humbled to lead this healing ministry and are reminded of a passage from C.S. Lewis: “Think of me as a fellow-patient in the same hospital who, having been admitted a little earlier, could give some advice . . .”
